Drips served fresh.

A few months ago I attended a finance conference in Salt Lake City. While there, I listened to Mick Hagen briefly discuss his new project. It was introduced to the audience with this video:

Because of the sheer awesomeness of the video (and a great panel presentation), I downloaded the app to see what it was about. Unfortunately Undrip was (and is) in "invitation only" mode. However, I could use the app for general news around the internet; I just couldn't connect it to my social sites. The purpose of Undrip is to "filter the flow". There are so many pointless things posted by friends and people I follow that I often miss out on the good stuff. Undrip solves that problem by showing things that are fresh and popular.

Even without the personalization, Undrip was an incredible app. The first thing I noticed was the speed. Because of the Facebook app, I had become accustomed to waiting 15-20 seconds for everything to load (such a long time...). Undrip doesn't have that problem. It loads faster than any app I've used and never crashes.

Thankfully, I tweeted about the coolness of Undrip, and Mick sent me an invitation. I quickly connected my accounts (no hassle at all) and was using the app in no time.

The user experience is incredible. Every movement and page change not only looks great, but has enjoyable content such as Mr. Rogers and Mr. T. I can filter what I see by articles, links, or videos. Social networking had become boring and dull; Undrip is making it fun again, but in a non-trendy way. This is stuff that I want to see and read, not pointless banter from friends.

Recently I've been getting more into Google+.  Because of that, having a G+ connection on my Undrip account would be great. Having that would mean I no longer open any social app except Undrip, because I rarely care about simple status updates from friends.

Undrip is a great experience. I mean that thing is good. I have three invitations for people to use Undrip. Who wants one?

Edit (5/25/2013): Undrip is unfortunately shutting down. Hopefully new and continually awesome things will be released from the team in the future.
