Left or Right? Neither.

The Occupy Wall Street movement has been called the "Tea Part of the Left".  Both the Tea Party and Occupy Wall Street have become very popular due to the prolonged recession that America went through.  People want change. The problem is that neither what Occupy Wall Street wants nor what the Tea Party wants will cause positive change.

Occupy Wall Street is fed up with corporate corruption and the politics of business.  They want more government and more regulation for firms.  For businesses, compliance with regulation can cost a lot of money. With more money being spent on compliance, less is spent on production.  This will stifle innovation and growth. It will not jumpstart the American economy.

The Tea Party wants less government intervention.  It is through less government that growth can occur.  In this environment, people are free to do what they do best: innovate and build.  Entrepreneurship and investment create wealth.  It's unfortunate and inevitable that there are people who are willing to drop all morals to receive the wealth quickly without doing what is necessary to earn it.  Because of these people, government regulation is necessary. People are unable to govern themselves.

This is the beauty of the political system.  Neither side will ever come into full power. Something in between is what we have, and this "something in between" is what we need.
